Technology Used

VSZ is a client/server based solution.

The actual traffic calculations are executed on GNU/Debian Linux servers in a cold-standby constellation.
The GUI has been implemented by a third party (ALSIC BVBA) in a Microsoft .NET environment (on explicit client request) as a fat client running on the operator's workstation.
Client-Server communication is SOAP based.
All server processes run Java coded software.
All server components have been implemented using Open Source software (Linux, PostgreSQL, Apache, GNU, and so on).
For the SOAP server, Apache Foundation Axis has been used.
