VSZ > External Interfaces

VSZ takes data from several sources:

• Train passage schedules (and their modifications) are supplied by the Belgian railway company.

• Tidal tables are provided as spreadsheets and are imported periodically.

• The network definition is imported from the NVZ operated GIS system (GML2 files).

• VSZ communicates with the NVZ operated REMARCC II system that manages a central vessel database. Official ship data are loaded from REMARCC. VSZ operators can enter new ship data that are submitted to REMARCC as a proposal for update.

  The vessel's nautical characteristics are loaded from REMARCC (length, width, maximal and minimal speed). Actual draught and height are entered when requesting the traffic schedule.

• In the near future a module accepting ERI messages will be integrated. ERI voyage notifications from external sources will be accepted and used to prepare traffic schedule requests that are completed and approved by an operator.
